Home is Here! is a TV program that focuses on showcasing the different countries and cultures that make up Manitoba’s cultural diversity. On the program, we talk about the stories that have shaped individuals, families and communities in our province. As a Manitoban, I was honored to have interviewed families and individuals in our community from 8 different countries around the globe. Each country represented, helped showcase the rich cultural fabric of our province. Working with ShawTV Winnipeg, we have completed in-studio recording and interviewing for all 8 episodes for Season 1 of Home is Here. We are working through post-produciton phase and looking to air in 2016.
We believe that Home is Here! is a uniting platform for our city and province in the face of recent national and global news. I would be excited to get your view on various cultural positive influences in our city and province through a short recorded interview at a place of your choice.

Belize was the site of several Mayan city states until their decline at the end of the first millennium A.D. Territorial disputes between the UK and Guatemala delayed the independence of Belize until 1981. With a population of just over 350,000 Belize is located in Central America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, between Guatemala and Mexico. The climate is tropical, very hot and humid and the rainy season is from May to November and the dry season from February to May. The terrain is flat and swampy with low mountains in the south.

British influence and control over what would become Nigeria and Africa's most populous country grew through the 19th century. A series of constitutions after World War II granted Nigeria greater autonomy; independence came in 1960. With a population of just under 200,000,000 people, Nigeria is located in Western Africa, bordering the Gulf of Guinea, between Benin and Cameroon. The climate varies; equatorial in the south, tropical in the centeral part and arid in north. The terrain consists of southern lowlands which merge into central hills and plateaus; mountains in the southeast and plains in the north

Colombia was one of the three countries that emerged from the collapse of Gran Colombia in 1830 (the others are Ecuador and Venezuela). With a population of over 46,000,000 people, it is located in Northern South America, bordering the Caribbean Sea, between Panama and Venezuela, and bordering the North Pacific Ocean, between Ecuador and Panama. The climate is tropical along coast and eastern plains and cooler in highlands. The terrain is of flat coastal lowlands, central highlandsand high Andes Mountains.

The UK annexed Southern Rhodesia from the former British South Africa Company in 1923. UN sanctions and a guerrilla uprising finally led to free elections in 1979 and independence (as Zimbabwe) in 1980. The Indus Valley civilization, one of the world's oldest, flourished during the 3rd and 2nd millennia B.C. and extended into northwestern India.Years of nonviolent resistance to British rule, led by Mohandas GANDHI and Jawaharlal NEHRU, eventually resulted in Indian independence, which was granted in 1947. With a population of over 1,200,000,000 people in is located in Southern Asia, bordering the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, between Burma and Pakistan. The climate varies from tropical monsoon in the south, and emperate in the north. The terrain is that of upland plains in the south, deserts in the west and the Himalayas in the north.

Close ties to France following independence in 1960, the development of cocoa production for export, and foreign investment all made Cote d'Ivoire one of the most prosperous of the West African states. With a population of just under 23,000,000 people, Cote d’ivoire is located in Western Africa, bordering the North Atlantic Ocean, between Ghana and Liberia. The climate is tropical along the coast, semi arid in the far north with 3 seasons - warm and dry season (November to March), hot and dry season (March to May), hot and wet season(June to October). the terrain is mostly flat to undulating plains and mountains in the northwest.
