What does the bible mean in Genesis after Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, that their eyes opened?
So what, couldn't they see before? That can't be, eve saw the fruit and picked it so she could see. What then does that verse mean?
I feel that the eyes opening has a lot to do with our 5 senses. I think that before the fall man was connected to God in a way that had nothing to do with our 5 senses. We were connected to him in a way that had nothing to do with our ears, eye, sense of smell, touch or even taste. We just connected. It's interesting also that the bible tells us in no uncertain terms that we should walk by faith and NOT by sight.
We have fallen so far from our Father we don't know how else to connect with him apart from using our senses. Paul tells us exactly how we should be connecting with God. By FAITH.
Leon Fontaine in his book The Spirit Contemporary Life, walks us through how we can in our day get back to walking in the cool of the day with our Father.
Cheers!
